Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant – Manchester

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a graduate to join a primary school in September as a Teaching Assistant within the Manchester area.

This position is ideal for a graduate who is considering a teaching career within the primary ages. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be given the chance to work for a year before going on to do the Schools Direct/PGCE teacher training route.

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant position – one year  

  • Gain invaluable experience before starting the Schools Direct/PGCE teacher training route

  • £18,000 per annum (Pro-Rata 39 weeks per year)

  • 2:1 or better from a recognised UK university

    Are you coming to the end of your undergraduate degree and on track to achieve a 2:1?

    Do you have a degree that is relevant to school subjects (e.g. English, Maths, Science, History etc.)?

    Can you demonstrate a dedication and passion to help influence others and support their learning?

    Have you considered going into the teaching profession?

    The ideal graduate will be able to show attributes such as being able to think on their feet and develop a good relationship with others. You may not have any school experience but someone who can be inspiring and motivate others will do well within this role. This is a great opportunity to build up your key skills and make a positive contribution to the learning of students prior to starting your teacher training.

    As a graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be given the chance to work with a preferred key stage and experience a full academic year working with children to enhance your development. Being part of a welcoming school, you will be well supported to ensure you build on your knowledge of the National Curriculum and equipped with ideas to take with you. There is also the possibility of joining the Schools Direct programme as a way of training to be a primary teacher.
