Teach In second consecutive win at Education Investor Awards
Teach In recognised as Best Recruitment Supplier 2018 with their second consecutive win at the Education Investor Awards.
Teach In are delighted to be recognised by the Education Investor Awards as an outstanding provider of recruitment services for schools for the second year running! This achievement is all the more remarkable considering it’s only the company’s third trading year.
Teach In’s mission is to improve recruitment and retention rates for schools in inner-city areas. In addition, Teach In also focus their attentions on how they could attract more graduates into the teaching profession. Identifying problems in the current initial teacher training offering, including the cost of training and a complicated application processes, Teach In developed TIQ (Teach In Qualified), a paid, two-year, classroom based programme that leads to qualified teacher status. What started with a small pilot of 10 trainees in 2017, grew to 65 in 2018.
The Education Investor Awards judges praised Teach In for its “ innovative model and impressive story of growth over the past year”. They were impressed with Teach In’s “clear mission statement” and “innovative solutions to clearly articulated challenges”. Teach In was also commended for “helping to develop teachers of the future, not just recruiting to fill vacant posts”.
Simon Adams, Director at Teach In commented on the 2018 win; “It’s particularly pleasing to see that the judges highlighted the mission and purpose of Teach In as worthy of particular praise. It’s true that the company has grown rapidly since 2016, and we believe this positive financial performance is a result of constantly challenging ourselves to make a positive impact in schools – something we consider with every decision we make”.
In addition to building the next TIQ cohort starting in January, Teach In is currently helping schools understand how they can use their apprenticeship levy payments to train teachers of the future. The Teaching Apprenticeship Programme is a perfect fit for Teach In’s mission and the team there are currently focused on finding the science, technology, engineering and mathematics teachers of the future for schools. Teach In looks forward to reporting on the positive impact of their work next year.
