Teach In Qualified Programme – Teaching Assistant to Qualified Primary School Teacher

Teach In Qualified (the TiQ Programme) is a salaried graduate scheme where you start working as a Teaching Assistant and work your way up to gain Qualified Teacher Status at the end of 2 years of increased responsibility.

Starting as a Teaching Assistant gives you a couple of terms of shadowing a teacher and gaining experience within the school before you begin teaching independently. Alongside the in-school experience and training you will receive, professional development sessions will also be run during half terms and there will be online learning content as well as termly visits from a teacher training provider with extensive experience of delivering school-based initial teacher training.

With a school-based trainer and a mentor from the training provider to supplement your own distance learning, your transition from Teaching Assistant to Qualified Primary Teacher will be as seamless as possible.

The school in Barking & Dagenham, East London, are a large primary school with amazing opportunities to progress and learn from some outstanding teachers with a wealth of experience and proven track record. They already have a Teaching Assistant training programme in place, which you will join for the first two terms before moving away from Teaching Assistant work for most of the timetable to begin independent teaching.
