Newly Qualified Teachers

Why do Thousands of NQT’s connect with us to find their first permanent teaching role?

Unlike the vast majority of agencies, we help NQT’s into permanent teaching roles. The relationship we have with you is short but very meaningful, and our service is free.

If I register, how does it work?

  1. We will find out exactly what you are looking for in your first role and then approach suitable schools on your behalf. This means you are not constantly searching and applying for roles. Whatever you need to get your CV together, we can help.
  2. Next, we provide you with an eight-part Headteacher Series, hosted by retired London and Sussex Principal Stuart McLaughlin. This video series will help you succeed at interview and really understand how to thrive, not just survive your first year of teaching All this will give you the edge at interview.
  3. Once you have interviewed and accepted the role that is right for you, you will be employed directly with your school and paid a salary based on where you are on the British Teacher Payscale.

Look at us as your personal job hunting concierge. Once we know what you want, we start searching and approaching schools on your behalf. Why wouldn’t you use our service?

Selecting the best place to start your career, navigating the application process, interviewing successfully and surviving your first year is overwhelming.

So what do we offer NQT’s?

Our School Network

We work with 1000’s of schools in and around Greater London. We also work with schools in locations in Northern England. This means you have a range of opportunities and real choice. Schools love working with us, because we help them find exactly what they want- an NQT who is keen to take a permanent role in their school. Someone who is the right fit for their community. So many NQT’s accept the first role the are offered. Make sure you make a measured decision about where to kick-start your career.

Easy Application Process

The most time-consuming and overwhelming part of looking for your first role is the amount of effort you have to go through, just to get an interview.. We will advocate for you, and get you interviews in schools that fit your brief. No more job hunting online or completing selection criteria and other application forms

The series begins with a session on ‘Preparing for Interviews’, and then deep dives into how to answer questions that headteachers are likely to ask. The rest of the series identifies the main things that NQT’s need to know in their first year of teaching.

  1. Preparing for Teaching Interviews
  2. Behaviour Management
  3. Time Management
  4. Safeguarding
  5. Curriculum Planning
  6. Inclusion
  7. Dealing with Conflict
  8. Tips to becoming part of the school community

Everyone who registers with us has access to this Headteacher series free of charge.

“I attended the Teach In NQT interview day at Derby. I was quite nervous as it was my first interview for a teaching position, however, I was immediately put at ease by Sabrina and Simon. They were both friendly, approachable and willing to answer any questions and give us some handy advice.

During the day it was arranged for us to visit and be interviewed by an outstanding local school that has connections with other schools in the area. It was a great confidence boosting experience with the potential to lead on to a job opportunity. Thank you both for a fantastic day!”

“Teach In is a fantastic way to get connections with great schools, and it takes the hassle out of applying for jobs independently. I went along to the NQT event and both Sabrina and her colleague were helpful, friendly and encouraging. I felt very nervous when I first arrived, however they provided an open, fun yet professional atmosphere which instantly put me at ease. They were genuinely interested in my teaching journey so far and adapted the day to suit myself and my fellow NQTs.

I was thrilled that it had been arranged for me to go and visit one of the schools that I was very interested in applying for, where I was able to meet the head teacher and the deputy head, who were both very welcoming and willing to have a professional talk with me about my time in schools so far. I feel that Teach In has helped me on my journey of becoming a teacher and I am looking forward to hopefully meeting with them again in the future. Thank you!”
